Effective Communication With DiSC Behavioural Styles (D,i,S,C)

In order to communicate effectively it’s important to consider the behavioural style of your listener. For instance that you are trying to sell a solution to a person who is a high C (Conscientiousness), if you haven’t prepared your pitch with enough facts and data, he or she might consider you insincere and ill-prepared.  If on the other hand, you are trying to pitch to a high D (Dominant) and you go in with facts and figures, that person might be bored and walk out of the room. In this small workshop I’ll help you to master the communication through understanding the DiSC behavioural styles. You will be aware of YOUR own style, and styles of people around you. You will be aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and you will learn how to adopt your communication based on your listener’s behavioural style. In addition to, how you behave in management, conflict, and so on. Not to forget, that you wll learn how to recognise the other person’s style just in few minutes.

A little history about DiSC

The initial DiSC model comes from Dr. William Martson, a professor at Columbia niversity in the 1920s, who was curious about the behavior of normal people. He did not create an instrument from his theory, but others did. Wiley / Inscape Publishing have been researching and analyzing DiSC for over 40 years. Y ou’ll always know its WILEY’s DiSC by its signature lower – cased “I” in DiSC.)
